SndeTeam - FAQ

Creation of SndeTeam

The SndeTeam project officially came into existence on November 21, 2020. Initially, it started as a team account for one of our earlier successful projects called ServerNews_DE. This project played a significant role in the birth of SndeTeam. Following a change in ownership on December 11, 2020, SndeTeam underwent a revival and took center stage as a management project responsible for overseeing various projects. The former ServerNews_DE project became a service under SndeTeam, known internally as SNDE News. Over time, SNDE News expanded to include additional projects such as ProjektNewsDE and SpeedNewsDE.

Creation of WallpaperHub (before - SNDE Wallpapers)

WallpaperHub, our newest project launched in June 2022, is dedicated to providing self-made wallpapers to everyone free of charge and without the need for registration. Following the successful completion of a major project and a comprehensive team restructuring, we sought to embark on a venture that would be enjoyable for our team members and not demand an excessive amount of time and effort. Through serendipitous circumstances, we discovered the potential of a wallpaper service. While there were initial plans for other services such as pre-made banners, profile pictures, or photo editing, WallpaperHub emerged as the sole project that has materialized thus far.

Who owns SndeTeam

The SndeTeam is composed of dedicated volunteer team members who generously contribute their personal time and efforts to drive the development and progression of the project. We operate independently and do not have any external entities or companies overseeing us, although this distinction is sometimes misconstrued. Our team's commitment and passion are the driving forces behind our collective success.

Our projects and services

The SndeTeam is a relatively young project, having been established just three years ago. Since 2020, we have witnessed significant growth and development, with the initiation of various projects. While we have had successful endeavors, it is important to acknowledge that we have also encountered projects that have concluded. Throughout these experiences, our team members have acquired valuable expertise, which we continuously strive to leverage. Presently, we are actively engaged in two ongoing projects.

Will services cost anything later

Currently, our free projects will remain free in the future. However, we cannot rule out the possibility of introducing advertising or implementing a subscription model at some point. Discussions regarding such models have taken place, but it is important to note that we are committed to providing a free version of every service with minimal restrictions. Any subscription model would offer additional benefits, such as reduced advertising, early access to features and content, and other advantages that do not significantly impact user experience. It is possible that certain services may be offered exclusively through a paid subscription, while others will continue to have a free version available. However, our primary goal is to ensure that there is a free version for as many services as possible.

Project costs

A significant portion of our expenses is allocated to our team-related operations. Our team relies on a cloud infrastructure, which incurs an annual cost of approximately €400. Additionally, we have expenses associated with domains and other related services, totaling around €80 annually. However, we have optimized our operations by transitioning to more cost-effective alternatives that offer enhanced functionality compared to our previous systems. We have found great value in leveraging services provided by Google LLC, such as Workspace and Cloud, which have enabled us to streamline our operations, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. Furthermore, our hosting provider, Skrime, has contributed to cost savings and enhanced productivity by providing efficient systems for managing our domains.

Partnership process

How to request a partnership is explained here in this help page

To initiate a partnership, we request interested parties to submit their project ideas and reasons for collaborating with us through our customer service. Our team then carefully evaluates whether the proposed partnership aligns with our objectives and values. If we determine that there is potential for collaboration, we will contact the interested party through our customer service to gather more information and address any additional questions.

The partnership planning process involves detailed discussions and reviews with the prospective partner. We assess various factors, such as workflows, processes, and team compatibility, to ensure a strong fit and alignment. This thorough evaluation process typically takes several weeks to ensure a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.

We prioritize the quality of project ideas and ensure that they align with our standards and objectives. If, during the evaluation process, we determine that the partnership is not a good fit or that the proposed project idea does not meet our criteria, we may choose to terminate the partnership. Similarly, if the partner's team structure or the actions of their team members do not align with our rules and values, we may also terminate the partnership.

We emphasize that our partners are responsible for their team members and their conduct. Any actions, whether private or professional, reflect on the partner, and we expect adherence to our rules and guidelines from all parties involved.

Once a partnership has successfully completed a test run and both parties are satisfied with the collaboration, we gladly welcome the partner as an official partner. At this stage, we will acknowledge and mention the partner as an official partner in our communications and platforms.

It is important to note that the official partnership status is contingent upon our acknowledgment and mention of the partner. Until we publicly recognize the partnership, it is not considered official, and we do not provide support or endorsement.

We value the commitment and contributions of our partners and aim to promote a mutually beneficial relationship through our collaborative efforts.

Info: A test run of the partnership can take between 1 week and 3 months. It depends on how complex the joint plans are and how complex the respective team-internal structure is.

The SndeTeam and partner projects are currently not focusing on podcasts and have no plans to launch any in the coming months. We believe that the existing content does not warrant the creation of a podcast format. Instead, we provide timely updates and news through our written news blog, which keeps our audience informed about the latest developments.

If we decide to venture into podcasting in the future, it would be under the SndeTeam brand and solely dedicated to topics such as roadmaps, updates, planning, projects, partners, events, and more related to the SndeTeam. Our intention would be to create a podcast that is exclusively focused on providing valuable information and insights to our audience.

While we don't have our own podcast, it is possible for us to participate in podcasts hosted by others and share relevant information and insights during those appearances. If such opportunities arise, we will announce them through our social media channels, allowing our audience to listen to the podcast episodes and engage with the content. This way, we can still contribute to the podcasting space and provide additional value to our community through collaborations with other podcast hosts.

We would never record private conversations there, we consider that unacceptable for an account that ultimately reflects an entire project.

 Why are team members so secret

We respect the privacy of our team members and provide them with the freedom to decide whether or not they want to publicly acknowledge their affiliation with us. We believe that personal discussions or arguments should not be limited by their association with the team. Moreover, it is not necessary for our users to know the personal details, such as age, location, or names, of our team members. We consider this information to be personal and confidential.

To maintain privacy, we have a strict internal rule that prohibits the disclosure of personal information, including usernames or any other identifying details, through our official accounts. Even if a team member wishes to share personal information, it will not be done through our accounts.

By adhering to these guidelines, we prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of our team members while maintaining a professional and respectful environment.
